Happy Mother’s Day

(better late than never) Hope all the Mum’s had a great Mother’s Day :)

I had a great day, Jake and I had a kids free evening and went to the Pink concert on Sunday night as a Birthday(his)/Mother’s Day present. It was FANTASTIC!! We were amazingly close, in the front row at the stage. It was such a great show, I’m hoping to get tickets so we can go again.

On special request, my mother asked for cupcakes and Lemon meringue pie to go with her (very ugly, that she picked) slippers (why, I have no idea..I can’t cook to save myself) But, not to disappoint..cupcakes and pie is what she got

She was a little surprised at the top of the pie, that is until she actually cut into it. “Why the hell is it green Leigh!”….”cause I can, Happy Mother’s Day Mum”

Pink and green–how interesting! Why would anyone complain about such pretty food?

Mom giggled when she saw the inside of your pie. It reminded her of when she was little and had an EZ Bake Oven. She made a “cake” for her grandfather that was orange (flavored with Tang drink mix) and had dark green peppermint frosting. Grandpa ate the whole thing, pronounced it delicious, and then ate an entire roll of Tums antacid.

Thanks for the memory … Grandpa has been gone for nearly thirteen years and she misses him efurryday.

I’ll bet that the pink meringue was absolutely delicious!
