Celebrate Australia Day..ya bum!

Love him or hate him, there is no denying Sam Kekovich is one super passionate Australian.

As always in the lead up to Australia Day, hes out with his new ad for Meat & Livestock Australia and ranting against all things unAustralian.

Hayden called his grandparents yesterday to inform them he didn’t want chicken for dinner on Saturday night. The man on TV said if we don’t eat lamb on Australia Day, we’re bums! So sorry grandpa, we can’t have your favourite meal you have been waiting weeks for, it has to be lamb!

Being on TV, of course it has to be some sort of law..how could they argue with that? So much to grandpa’s annoyance, it’s lamb for dinner.

Next on the check list of unbum like tasks to perform on Australia Day is to get out there and celebrate (which we had already planned on, before the voices spoke to you Hayden) We’re off to the Australia Day celebrations at The Rooty Hill tomorrow, which is claiming to be the biggest in Western Sydney. You can check out the Australia Day website and find the celebrations happening in your area.

So come on people, don’t be a bum! Celebrate Australia Day, and eat some lamb (or some lamb chop shaped veggie)! We live in the best country on earth..whats not to celebrate!

This afternoon Phill and I are heading off to go camping with some work mates and we’ll get back sometime on Australia Day (or the day after). We’re planning on cooking some lamb chops and drinking some good ol’ Aussie beer. So we’re definitely not bums! ;)

I have my lamb marinating in the fridge, all ready to go on the BBQ tomorrow arvo :D

It’d be un-Australian to cook it in a fry pan don’t you think? :P

If you check out my site, you will see that I am a massive planner. i decided on lamb chops without input from the Tv because I thought they would be a pretty Aussie thing to serve on Australia Day - and yes they will be cooked on the barbie.
