Little things..

Isn’t it funny how the littlest things can bring on huge waves of emotion.

Like tomatoes.

I was cleaning up the kitchen and came to moving some tomatoes that had been left on the bench from the other night.

Tomatoes in themselves aren’t overly exciting. But the fact they had sat there a few days, and not been eaten was something I can’t remember happening. Just like meat and other yummies, tomatoes have always had to be well hidden from one certain furry family member.

Caesar LOVED tomatoes. You could never leave them out, he would steal them and eat the WHOLE thing like it was a huge rump steak. He would smell it when you were cutting them and come running and meowing his head off. He would seek them out in the shopping bags before you have even unpacked them, and would try to steal them out of the fridge if you lingered to long with the door open.

Caesar loves tomatoes

Thought it was only onions that made you cry.

He was definitely very unique in the cat world. I’ve never heard of another cat before or since that would go for anything other than meat with such gusto. They are good memories to have though, even if they do make you cry. xoxo

We’re so sorry for your loss … It’s amazing how seemingly little moments stick with you an’ have a habit of sneaking up when you least expect them. Those kind of moments wipe me out …

I remember that picture of Caesar and the tomato. He was a very special little cat and I know you miss him (understatement).
    Great post, well put.
Isn’t it the little things that get you, when you least expect it.
My 18-year old mini poodle Bear and I loved to share fresh steamed broccoli.
Since she went to the Bridge last year, I sometimes find myself reduced to tears in front of the supermarket broccoli display.
