- Noiceities-Kitteh Snuggles and twat rugs– also posted in Alex, Blogging, Calais, kitteh
For ease of use, Noice-ities is now freestyle. So each week I am going to share something noice, and something not noice from my week.
Noice…
Working from home today and feeling a bit flat, nothing beats kitteh snuggles. Kittehs must be cold, and I bet they aren’t really enjoying being home a lone a lot these days. So have had both the chocolate babies fighting over who gets to sit right in my face. Alex is happier to ride in the back seat.
And now for the Not Noice…and well, just plain creepy! We were out rug shopping on the weekend and spotted this, and all I could think of was THESE cupcakes.
The whispering eye rug…who in their right mind would buy that?? (click to bigify)
No..we didn’t
We did get a bargain tho, the rug we got was originally $899 and we got it for $220..woo!

Guess there will be no washing going on here today. Yes, my bath is actually the dirty clothes basket at the end of a busy week. If your bath was that colour, would would want to cover it too!
Long weekends, perfect for napping.

- All ears– also posted in kitteh
Gemini went in for desexing last Friday.
(excuse the crappy iPhone pics)
We had planned to breed with her (registered of course) but with losing Stasia, and me starting a new job we decided now wasn’t the best time. I had also been putting it off a little, Alex does NOT cope well with anyone going to the vet and coming home smelling weird. So had to wait till I had a few days at home to keep an eye on her, and to calm him down.
She wasn’t keen on the car trip, my ears were ringing for the rest of the day after the screaming the whole trip.Dropped her off, signed the forms…made sure to tell them DO NOT TATTOO her. And went home to await the call that she was OK to pick up.
Manpet picked her up on his way home from work. She was quite alert, so we let her straight out of the bag.
And then I saw it..and my heart sank. They had tattooed her.
Yes, it is just an ear…but of course I am superficial and shallow..why else would I spend $450+ on bloody cats.
(I’m not sure what the regulations are with ear tattooing, I tried searching but didn’t find anything. Does anyone know?)
After having my little flip out tantrum, which was not at all helped by manpet saying “there’s not much you can do about it now” I thought maybe I can try and wipe some of the ink out…and it won’t be so dark. So armed with some makeup wipes I went and gently cleaned out her ear.
I was a little surprised with the result, didn’t take much and 99% of the ink had come out. Either the person doing the tattooing sucked, or they realised last minute that they shouldn’t be. What ever..I don’t care. I am just SO relieved I don’t have to look at a dirty great big ugly tattoo in her ear.
She has bounced back fine, and decided to remove her stitches the first say she was left alone on Monday. Thankfully the incision had already fully closed. Amazing how quick they heal, a woman takes a good 6 weeks to heal from a desexing LOL

- The war of the mouse house– also posted in Alex, Anastasia, Calais, kitteh
Everyone loves a freebie, and one of the added bonuses of feeding premium cat food is the cool freebies you often get with purchase. IAMS is one of the better companies, we have cat carriers for all, tunnels, tents, treat balls and all manner of tins and containers for storing the food.
Today when I went to get the cat food there was a cute little mouse house. Someone will love that I thought.
The meezers are a bit like children (well, maybe a lot) If someone has something, they all want it. And so started the war of the mouse house that.
Calais claimed it first, as soon as I took it out of the packet he was in there.
Gemini came a long soon after and wanted in on the action. Calais how ever was not at all interested in sharing. Much biffo followed and she jumped out..only to return 2mins later for another try and repeat x10. (she is a bit slow)
Stasia came along and claimed the prime spot at the sunny entrance, there is no arguing or saying no to her…just move over.
Gemini had some luck on the 11th try, he gave up and moved over again, there is certainly no arguing with 2 girls.
Alex, not one to be left out..”knock knock..is there room for one more?”
Quiet for a few minutes, till someone moves and it all starts again.

When we lost Caesar (1 yr ago on Mother’s Day
) I took a long while to think about getting a new babeh.Easter long weekend, we welcome a different kind of big eared critter in our home!
Ever since we got Calais, I have always said we have to get a girl and call her Gemini (Holden cars, so very bogan for those not in the know) I was never really keen on his name, but it grew on me and it does suit him. Wasn’t overly happy with her name for the first week either LOL
Meet Gemini! She is a Chocolate point Siamese..she is 5 months old now. Have had SO much trouble getting pictures of her. Little babies need lots of sleep, and when she isn’t sleeping she certainly isn’t sitting still! It has been a while since we have had a kitten in the house, forgot how bloody crazy they are. But shit she is cute!
Didn’t take long, and she had settled in perfectly. She especially loves her big brother Calais (she came from the same breeder..I wonder if they know?)
It will be interesting as she gets bigger, I have never had meezers the same colour before
