{Reposting this from waaay back in the achieves from 2008}

This has had my blood boiling every year at this time. Makes me feel all stabby! I just farkin hate it…does my head in. Those that know me, I can hear you bloody groaning..you know where I am going with this..well just shut up smarty pants!

I would like to put forward a petition to <del>Mr Rudd</del> Ms Gillard, to ban this item from sale and or display in Australia at Christmas. It is highly offensive and just down right un Australian! Maybe we could also get Senator Conroy to add it into his wonderful new filter.

What is it you ask? What is this awful thing that is so offensive and 100 kinds of wrong?

Snow….at Christmas…in Australia!

Snowmen, decorations covered in snow or of bloody snow flakes, spray on snow in a can ( sucko tho, cause that shit doesn’t come off..serves you right for using it!) cotton wool on your Christmas tree to make it look like snow (yes mum..I am looking at YOU!) white Christmas trees…Christmas cards with snowy scenes on them. I could go on, but the eye twitch is getting worse.

They should all be banned..the lot of them!

Then there are those people who like to say, but it isn’t Christmas without a bit of snow or those of you outside Australia that say , oh you must be sad you don’t get snow and Christmas…no we bloody well aren’t!!! You don’t want to know what I propose for you. If you are an immigrant from the northern hemisphere you can be slightly forgiven..only just!

It doesn’t snow here at Christmas people! (ok, so I have seen pics of it snowing in some freaky woop woop mountains in Victoria at Christmas..but they don’t count!) About the only flakey stuff thats going to be falling from the sky is ash and burnt leaves. We enjoy Christmas quite fine with out it…don’t we?!

So come on, embrace your Australianism..snow..just say no!

P.S Did you know it’s only 33 days until Christmas… *faint*

I have loved City Chic for many years. Before there were so many great plus sized shopping options online, it was pretty much your only choice. I can’t say I am overly keen on their prices, though their sales are always awesome. But they do often have some good stuff.

Jeans are basically the only kind of pants I wear. To work, after work, weekends…always jeans. I do like the fit of the City Chic jeans, despite the price, compared to my other jeans.

I have these 3 jeans pictured below (well the one of the right is very similar to the ones that I have that are now no longer for sale) but you get the idea.

But I have a small gripe, my City Chic jeans are trying to turn me into a smurf.

So, I’m not sure if I am alone in this? Bored, nervous and especially when I am cold. I rub my hands on my legs. It’s not a lot, but obviously enough. Sometimes I might just rest one hand in between my knees or under a leg. This is something I have to try very hard to avoid when wearing my City Chic jeans.

This is what happens to my hands!

Excuse the terrible pic (ever tried taking a phone pic with no hands!) The one on the left is colour my hands go when wearing the darker pairs. The right is the regular pink colour, to prove I am not in fact an actual smurf. It happens with every pair to some extent.

I’ve had issues with denim that has that terrible chemical smell. I will smell every pair of jeans before I buy them, yes..I am fun to shop with. Deciding on purchases by smell. But I thought these would be OK, as they don’t have any smell.

They have been washed many many times, and still they do it. What am I doing wrong? My cheapy ones from Target never do this.

Has anyone else had this issue with City Chic Denim?

Hope you survived the long weekend that was long.

I hate Easter..with a passion. So, glad that it is over for another year. Now that the kids are getting a older, it is getting easier to downplay the whole thing.

Poor manpet had to spend a little too much family quality time together, with the playstation network down for the last 4 days. To think of all the poor partners stuck with game withdrawn men (and women I guess too) all over the world this long weekend. Wonder if murder rates are up?

Poor ANZAC Day tucked in on the end, stupid bunny and chocolate stealing it’s thunder. Is it just me, or it is just a little tacky to “celebrate” it, and greet each other with Happy ANZAC Day?

I have nothing against ANZAC Day, all though it does seem to have it in for me. Every year, without fail around this time I get sick with asthma and related stuff. I remember watching the ANZAC march quite a few times from hospital as a kid. Thankfully, it isn’t as bad these days. Usually just a chest infection, sometimes pneumonia, and one time some pleurisy. Just really weird that it is like clock work every year?

Eric showing off pretty well what we got up to this weekend. Caught up on some movie and TV downloads…and lots of naps.

A guide to Australian Plus Size retailers, as well as overseas retails offering shipping to Australia.

Shopping online is increasingly becoming many women’s shopping method of choice. And why not, when it is so convenient and easy. You can shop at any time of the day or night, and quite often you will get a much better range and cheaper as well.

Teeth, the bane of my existence, I’ve been embarrassed and self conscience about for them about 10yrs now. They are debilitating, they make me miserable every.single.day

It’s one of those taboo topics that I will never discuss the full details of with anyone other than the manpet..not even my mum.

I think I am a shallow person? I try not to be. I assume people judge me based on appearances, that the first thing people notice are my eww teeth. I feel like a hillbilly…or a junkie, but then I guess neither of those are fat

I don’t smilie, and cover my mouth when I laugh, and sometimes when I talk.

Never really had bad teeth when I was younger, had a few fillings but that was about it. I think the large amounts prednisone and asthma medication as a kid are probably the biggest contributing factor.

I can remember the day vividly when it all went to shit. I was 6mths pregnant with Hayden, eating an egg sandwich (my gawd, I think I ate an egg sandwich nearly every day I was pregnant with him) And a filling fell out. It wasn’t painful at all, and I did mean to get it fixed. But first baby, we were moving house, Jake was changing jobs…and I am a habitual putter offerer of things, especially not nice things. I also have a huge, shaking, panic attack inducing phobia of dentists.

You name it, and I have had it. Filling after filling after filling, root canal, teeth taken out in the chair, teeth taken out under GA. Despite many crying and pleading attempts for many a string of dentists to just pull all the bastards out, they all refuse. I guess my super persuasive ways only work on Jake.

Next Friday I have a 4hr date with my new, totes awesome dentist and some IV sedation. This will probably be my biggest bunch of work to date. I would like to think this is going to be my amazing smile make over that I have always dreamed of. But, at best it will get rid of this toothache that I have had for 2mths now, and patch me up a little for a few more years. But I am still going to hate them.

Maybe one day I will win lotto and go on that teeth holiday to Thailand
