Noice-ities..Come share what was noice in your week?

Happy Friday!

It has been a little quiet here at That’s Noice this week…Rah and I have well and truly caught the cake decorating bug after our class this week (post to come on that) and we have been able to think of little else. But regular posting will resume next week ;)

So..Friday again and time for Noice-ities. We’ve decided to make it super easy for everyone to join in, all you have to do is write a post..or leave us a comment telling us something noice from your week. Over at my blog I have decided to share some noice and not noice..cause everyone loves a bit of the not noice LOL

Despite the quietness this week, we have had our best month ever here at That’s Noice..a bit of Noice for us this week…very chuffed! (see what I did there, a hint that we get shit loads of traffic, so you really do want us linking to you *hehe*)

So..go forth and share and we will linky to you here when you’re done :D

(wow, don’t think I could have fit the word noice in that post one more time if I tried :P )

Noice-ities- What's your fav winter recipe?

Happy Friday everyone, and doesn’t the public holiday Monday make it even noicer!

Time for Noice-ities….this week we are asking What is your favourite winter recipe?

Nothing better than warming comfort food on those chilly winter days. Although with the lovely warm weather in Sydney of late you wouldn’t think winter is on it’s way.

By the way, have you check out some of the great recipes we have on That’s Noice?

If you missed last week Noice-ities (i.e. niceties, but noice!) is a new weekly meme/blog carnival/attempt to get everyone out of the woodwork.

Basically, it’s a chance for our friends to share their noice finds – every Friday with a new theme. Something that you can all get involved in, even if you don’t have a blog of your own!

If you have a blog, you can write a post and share the link with us in the comments below. But even if you don’t have a blog, tell us about it in the comments below! As we go along, we’ll add you all to the bottom of this post as well.

Most useful/used gadget

Been waiting for a week that was relevant so I could jump in on My Place & Yours over at hello owl.

This weeks theme is most useful/used gadget, yup….I can easily jump in right here (and this weeks could probably count for last weeks theme, collecting..I am a bit of a gadget junkie)

(maybe cheating with an old pic, but it not much point in taking another that would be the same…right?)

I couldn’t pick between the 2. They are my most useful, used…adored and loved gadgets. You can’t pick a favourite child ;)

When I stop and think about just how much I use them both, it’s a little scary. I’d say I would be using one, or have it on or very close by about 23hrs a day.

Macbook is work and play all rolled into one, from the first check of my sites and RSS in the morning, to one last check and tweet just before bed. It is running pretty much every waking moment. All the 3 jobs I currently have require it, as do all my hobbies and passions. So when you think about it, this silver beauty is pretty important…(must remember to do a backup one day soon ;) )

Then of course there is the iPhone that takes over where the macbook leaves off and then some. More play than work, aside from access to my emails and sites if need be when out and about. It’s more the apps and games that have me hooked. We Rule, Angry Birds, Tweetie and iReply, Mashable, all my stats and the list could go on with the 7 other pages of apps. You name it, there is an app for it..and I honestly cant fathom life without my iPhone.

And of course, I can’t forget…all my friends live them *hehe*

Most useful/used/adored gadget

As an aside…do you name your gadgets? I would love to name mine, but I have enough trouble naming kids and cats LOL

Henry Roth’s guide to spec-tacular style

Henry Roth_1 Autumn style advice from Henry Roth, Specsavers Style Ambassador

Frames are fashion. Think of your frames as a fashion accessory – match them with your mood and personal style. You add a burst of colour to a neutral outfit, or transform your wardrobe from day to evening with a change of frames.

Specs 2010 to be seen. Spectacles are the must have fashion essential, worn not to blend onto your face, but more as a stand out look.

Accessories are fashion’s best friend for 2010. Accessories, including spectacles, are fantastic for when you need to spruce up your wardrobe for autumn, but can’t afford a complete overhaul.

Adventurous accessories. Be adventurous with your spectacle selection. Choose a classic pair for work and a more bold design for evenings and weekends.

Autumn 2010, mix it up. Don’t be afraid to mix silver and gold jewellery/accessories – this autumn’s all about style with attitude.

Sexy secretary is in. For girls, this autumn’s look is flirty, feminine with a touch of Euro sexy style. Pencil skirts, patterned leather belts and high pumps. Look for gold, bright pink and orange accessories, jewellery with bling and rimless spectacles with colourful arms.

Here comes Superman! For guys, this autumn sees the return of the classic nerd – Clark Kent style. Clean crisp shirts, tailored suits, preppy jackets and lace-up shoes, teamedupwith oversizedplasticblackordarkrimmedglassesandslickedbackhair to complete the look.

Avant-garde, fashion forward look. Opt for accessories that are bold and dramatic. For a night out, match your little black dress with bright and funky accessories like chandelier earrings, studded cuff bracelets or colourful frames.

To balance a prominent nose. If you have a long nose, look for glasses with a low set bridge to shorten it. For shorter noses, select a style with a high set bridge in line with the top of the frames.

To balance a square face. If you have a square face, choose oval frames as they’ll help soften your jaw line. If you have a round face, opt for angular or geometric frame styles.
